Clearing New Ground at the Cabin

It was a cabin weekend.  It rained.  The sun came out, the wind blew the clouds away and then...it snowed!

But still, we managed to till up a garden plot and rim the new fence with a border for the roses and cottage flowers.  If the next door neighbor hadn't taken pity on us and come over with the tractor, me and Mert might still be up there digging.

The dirt is rich and beautiful and makes me imagine all the farmers who have worked this property.

But by Sunday evening, we were worn slap out!

In the meantime, our little garden is starting to crop up...
